Don’t use logo generators for your business

After a quick Google search today, I found 3 different businesses in the real estate space, all using the same logo mark, and there might be several more businesses out there using the same logo.

It’s not good.

It’s not good for a couple of reasons if you happen to DIY your logo and use an online logo generator service:

  1. Trademarking a logo from a logo generator may not be allowed due to the terms the service provides.
  2. You run the risk of another business in your industry and market showing up with the same idea (logo) and you look like the Spider-man meme.

For the sake of your business, a little bit of investment in a professional to do a decent job of your branding and create a brand bespoke to your business and market is worth it.

Especially if it includes a bit of due diligence to see if there are any similar logos out there — be it a Google image search or a government intellectual property database trademark search like the IP Australia database.

Not to mention a proper brand strategy to position your business appropriately against your competition and attract your customers, which can then inform how your brand communicates visually, verbally and audibly.
