Designers, ChatGPT gets clients better than you do

I’m not gonna teach you to be a better designer than an AI tool, an AI tool is going to do it for you. Here’s how with ChatGPT.

Now I see an absolute ton of stuff about ChatGPT and what it can do. Some of it is total shit and some, well, it can be interesting for inspiration if you’re stuck for ideas.

I even saw advice to get it to write a blog post about writing a blog post about SEO for it to rank well and avoid SEO de-ranking from Google. The irony… “We put speakers, inside your hot tub, inside your car”, says Xzibit on the next episode of Pimp My Ride.

Now, designers, this is about YOU.

My best guess is 90% of us are shit at our onboarding conversations.

• We’re not succinct
• We fail to communicate the value of what can be done
• We don’t hunt for more business insight
• We’re not creative with options to meet the client’s needs
• We’re not consultative to advise what really needs to be done to help them achieve the best possible success for their business.
