Consumers don’t care about a brand’s social media content

Chances are whatever you post organically on social media doesn’t really matter beyond your brand showing up and here’s why.

My feelings towards social media in general are very much a love-hate relationship. Not the kind of Johnny Depp, Amber Heard kind of love-hate abusive relationship, though my weekly iPhone screen time reports would say otherwise. But perhaps the more stoic Mr Darcy, Elizabeth Bennett kind of love-hate relationship because my wife would likely only read this article because I mentioned Pride & Prejudice. Tick ✅

On the one hand, social media platforms offer a very appealing place to share and connect with others. Yet the promises each make always seem to change like shifting goalposts. Leaving you with a sense of longing and great expectations for reach and engagement for your efforts.

On the other hand, I really do enjoy making content made for social media. It’s a way that I like to process and share what I’m learning, implementing, and how my view on what I do is being shaped into this lovely little ball of pink branding nonsense in a creative way.
