Firstly, if you’re looking for quick answers, you’re shit out of luck. The majority of designers aren’t likely to get even one of these right, let alone all. So you’ve gotta pay attention, understand the context and think about how to apply this to your own design business efforts if you want to raise the bar of what you are offering and getting in return.
Secondly, this guide is predicated on you actually being good at what you do. I don’t want to bring subjectivity into this any more than this paragraph, but you do need to be reasonably good at what you do as a creative to align with a higher price than most. Of course, you do not need to be the best at what you do. But a simple yardstick to measure your aptitude is to compare your work with a few others in the creative space to see if your work is on par with a good standard of work that is reflective of your creative ability. Not only that but also ask your past clients if the work you produced for them is making an impact. Because at some point or another, you’re gonna look around the room and think, “Shit, I probably should be charging more for what I do”.
